I have read a couple of articles where it has been said that although the scale length of both the 22 and 24 fret models is the same, when playing the 24 fret version it requires the player to reach out further?
One article even said that the custom 24 is slightly longer than a strat to play on the first fret.
Surely not?
Many people on this forum have played/owned both so, what is the verdict?

Yeah, the headstock on a Custom 24 will be slightly further away from the body than that of the Custom 22. The distance between the nut and the bridge, however, are the same.

I like both, really. I do feel a tad more comfortable with the Custom 24 being that majority of my playing lies in the middle of the neck, and my left arm just feels more "at home" on the 24-fretters. I do feel that I can get certain pinch harmonics easier on the 22-fret sometimes, though. So it kinda just depends on what I'm going for in any given situation.

I think if I "had" to choose between the two, though, I'd pick the 24.

Don't know who made this, but it's brilliant:
