Hello everyone,
I just received my new Custom 20 combo and really love it.... but one thing is driving me insane - the reverb.
I'm not sure it's working. If it is, it is a very mild "room" type reverb. I'm pretty sure I can hear it if I crank the reverb to 10 - but I wonder if I really am hearing it sometimes.
Could someone kindly confirm what the reverb is like on a Custom 20?
Should I be blown away with a Spring type reverb? Or is the reverb truly a mild "room" type reverb and I'm not losing my mind?
THANK YOU!!!

Mine has a very nice spring reverb. You may have a bad preamp tube in the reverb driver spot. If that doesn't fix it you should contact your dealer.

One other thought. Do you have your footswitch plugged in? If so, step on the reverb button.

LOL - yeah, I got the footswitch plugged in... but now I have to figure out which tube is the reverb tube...

Follow up. I pulled the tank out to inspect it and discovered the leads from the RCA connector weren't attached to one of the molex connectors. I was able to crimp them in the connector but there was glue bubbles all over the pins on the tank preventing me from sliding the connector on completely. I did my best MacGyver to get the connector on as tight as possible. So far, so good. But I know one hard bump and the connector will slide off. PRS customer service has been awesome - supposedly I will have a new tank shipped to me soon.

I'm glad you got it sorted out. It's a great sounding amp, even with no reverb.

Way to go... I was expecting to hear of a reversal or some such... good sleuthing.
Excellent - PRS takes care of their customers!

Indeed they do! Apart from making kick butt exquisite gear they know how to treat a customer. I'm hooked.
