Credit Card At The Ready... But Which One?

Silver Sky Update:
Well, the return was successful and money refunded. The manager I spoke with to begin the process said they would look it over, then send it back to PRS if necessary. A quick look at their website today, and guess what-- it's back up-- no trip to PRS for correction. Hhmmm....

Maybe they'll disclose the flaws to those who inquire and offer a better deal on the price (however, it's currently listed at MAP).

Perhaps I was being too picky with my concerns. It's clearly rough to the touch to anyone who feels around the edges of the guitar...

Anyway, I can only hope they'll do the right thing for the next buyer. As far as our transaction is concerned, I'm satisfied-- no hard feelings.

Though it does have me thinking, "...am I being that guy...?" A little healthy introspection; I'll keep an eye on it ;)

Replacement Update:
UPS delivery scheduled between 11:30 and 2:30 December 10th 🕺🎸

They'll screw the next buyer and hope he/she never notices anything wrong. Stores are lazy anymore with that kind of stuff!

This afternoon the SS replacement arrived, safe & sound.

Yoshi enjoys hanging out in the studio-- she's good about letting me know when it's time for a beak ;)

After an hour or so, the decision was made; the film on the pickguard has been removed-- this axe is a keeper :D

I'll post a NGD tomorrow~

I recently bought a Strandberg Boden Essential to help with my shoulder and neck issues. Sitting at the computer with a guitar, working on music, etc is a real issue and this guy is very helpful. Very light and ergonomic. Frankly I haven’t put it down in the week or so that I have had it, I even played it in church for three services this past Sunday. It’s a cool instrument and I am glad I discovered it. Maybe give them a look. Otherwise, PRS in something semi hollow.

Great looking pooch!

Hhmmm...

Changing strings this morning, and came across this:

Tempted to overlook this because it's such a great guitar otherwise, and the hassle/expense of a return...

I've had Fenders worse than this in the past, and honestly never had problems with them, but then again I know PRS can do better.

Thoughts?

What a face!:p:D
LOL! Yes, she's a ham :D

We rescued her about two years ago. We were told she was three when we got her, but we don't know for sure. She had a rough time before we adopted her (many homes/re-homes) and it's taken a lot of work training-- but she's a much different & happy dog now. My wife & I are both retired, so we have the time to dedicate to training.

One comment we always hear is, "look at those pretty blue eyes!" That's how she charms people into giving her attention-- and treats-- LOL!

Much of her training is to become a Service Dog and she's doing well. It's amazing how when she's wearing the vest, she knows she's working. Smartest dog we've had ;)

Sorry about that; back to guitars :D

Thanks for the input!

I researched the Strandberg Boden Essential and it was on the top of my list for quite a while. Seems like it would be a wonderful guitar, and several friends love theirs-- even more than the expensive models in one case.

The main reason I decided against it was the fact it's so small, and I'm a big guy. When I hold one it feels like I've got a video game controller in my hands... and I just couldn't kick that feeling. Talk about a popular guitar though-- the guys at Ish Guitars had over a dozen and are nearly sold out (blue appears to be the most popular color). Great guitars by every measure-- especially the light weight!

In the headless category, I also considered Kiesel. Just wish they didn't have such shallow necks (front to back).

I suppose the gap would be one of the first things I would have looked for, but then again, I don't recall ever returning a guitar for that, not that I wouldn't. I did have a Charvel that I returned to SW not long ago. It had several issues, and I replaced it with a DGT SE, which has been a great guitar, and not just a great SE model. Likely under 7 lbs too. Or at least not over that.

Unrelated, but I did get a new Fender Telecaster Player II, for a slight discount - a minor finish flaw that I can't find anywhere. Anyways, what surprised me was the weight. Ash body, and weight relieved. I don't think I paid much attention to this fact. Teles always seem a bit chunky to me. This one though, is 6lbs or less. Feels almost like a toy when I first pick it up. But the neck is fantastic, feels very similar to my American Pro II strat at $1k more. Point is, Fender might actually make some lighter weight guitars now too. But my Player II and my DGT SE are quickly become my 2 favorite guitars, and I think the lighter weight is helping that - if you're uncomfortable playing for long, you won't choose to play it often, which defeats the purpose, right?
