I am having a really bad experience with covid this time around.

I flew into Wilkes Barre PA Sunday 9/8 for a mobile app release at our office there on 9/10. The release went perfect! The manager is a PRS fan and we had plans to jam and visit a local PRS authorized dealer and other music stores. Plans changed and life happened.

On 9/11 I was feeling a little off and took a covid test, it was positive! Damn, I hadn't been anywhere for two weeks except the airport for this travel. The curious thing was I counted 9 gates in F section at Ohare all loading at the same time, 1:30pm. Weird.

Fast forward to today, I just cleared covid tests and flew home. My company HR quarantined me at the hotel from 9/11 until last night when finally stopped testing positive. The bummer is at least 3 people in that office caught it from me!!

I still feel like crap, and this was way worse than the last two times I had it. So glad to be home, and my doggo is super happy now too!

Beware when traveling this season. It sucked for me!!

Oh, it's still a thing and it's still around. I'm convinced my wife is just getting over it as she has been sick for a week, and was bad for a couple days. She didn't bother taking the test because they don't even make you take off work for it anymore, but I'm pretty sure that's what she had.

I had it during it's "initial" run, I was symptomless. I only tested because my wife had it. I had not yet gotten the vax.

Got the vax, because I was forced to- my wife had to have brain surgery and to be allowed in I had to be vaxxed. THAT was a hellish 24 hours, far worse than any flu or covid I've ever had.

I just had it for the 2nd time, whatever strain is going around this summer, and it wasn't much fun... basically the flu for 5 days, with 3 days at around 102 temp. I did go to the doc and get the antiviral they give out for it, but no idea if it actually helped at all.

I just got the new vaccine two days ago. I'm immunosupressed and teach at a small college (another version of a germ factory). I wear a mask until it's time to start class. Got it once a last year, I was not really that sick, but I give credit to keeping up with the vaccines, they may not totally prevent it, but they make the symptoms not as bad - at least that was my experience.

Ivermectin Is Your Friend.
HCQ Is Your Friend.
Everything Else Is Your Enemy.

Yeah, had it gotten bad enough or long enough, I would have. I figured it would be basically a 3-day flu, and that's basically what it was. But I have no co-morbidities, which can really complicate things.

Sorry to hear that! Don't blame yourself though for the spread, you did what you could do and did not know you had it when it got spread!! Glad you are feeling better!!!

My 86 year old dad was hospitalized for weeks and is still not over it. Getting the new shot tomorrow. Had a bad case myself last year and it is not fun. Hopefully the next pandemic is handled better and smarter and less politically.

I still think fresh chicken noodle soup is the singular best treatment after the big meds.

I’ve heard of several people (my son being one of them) that said that it was worse this time around. Not extreme in any way. Just miserable. Haven’t heard of any extreme cases.

Wishing all the best for your dad. Hope he makes a strong recovery.

I had it about a year and a half ago but for me (age 70 at the time) it wasn't bad but I know we're all different. For three days I felt fairly drained and I had a bad case of "brain fog." Never experienced that before.

If another pandemic comes around I just hope people don't go into a panic again. A few weeks into the start of the whole mess I went to the grocery store and while it was orderly I could see a look of panic in some peoples eyes. But the ones who were grabbing the most were the ones who looked most afraid. But then maybe they went through some real hard times at one point in their lives with nothing to eat and were thinking "not again." I wasn't judging them because I didn't know their stories. I was just observing the situation.

Just don't want to see it again.

It was miserable this time. If I was home I wouldn't have cared as much.
Admittedly, I’m no expert in the progression of viruses, but I’m pretty sure that this is an oddity in virus evolution. From what I’ve learned, viruses normally get more virulent (easier to catch) and less harmful (weaker symptoms) as they evolve. This divergence seems peculiar. But that probably shouldn’t be surprising, considering that we’re talking about a man made virus that’s being treated with a relatively unproven gene altering therapy. What could go wrong?
