I am so not a fan of pick guards (none of mine have 'em, electric or acoustic), but this one was very well done!
Back in the day, I had this Yamaha FG 300 and I loved it. My oldest son now has it. The pick guard on it curled after a few years, so I peeled it the rest of the way off and used it as a template to make one out some black walnut veneer. It is still on there to this day. But here is how it used to look:
I thought so much of this guitar that I bought another one when I was in Japan with Uncle Sam, and gave it to my 2nd sister when I got back stateside. She still has hers also, and will not part with it under any circumstances. Too bad she doesn't play, haha. Oh well.
Sorry if I hijacked the topic. Now back to regularly scheduled posting.
