Well, I filled in tonite for the guitar player in a real hardcore country band.
Loved it. Fortunately, the lead vocalist also played rhythm guitar.
My Studio served me well as always. I love the narrowfield pickups in combo with the 57/08.
Can do anything I need. Twang till I die, if u know how to dial it in.
Got a chance to sing a little ... I was Glenn, Dwight and Vince.
I brought along my Dad's 1968 D35. No pickup bulls1t. Right into the mic & thru the PA.
Played it a lot. What I really appreciated was that they actually wanted me to feature it (a little).
So first set ...
Doc Watson ... Deep River Blues.
Dave Van Ronk ... Blood Red Moon
2nd set ...
Merle Travis ... Guitar Rag
3rd set ...
Merle Travis ... Walkin' The Strings.
Like I said, they are hardcore.
All in all, a really good nite.
Don't get many of those, and I deserve it.
