Could anyone tell me what colour this is? And perhaps the specs of it?

Hi all,

I recently purchased a NOS P24 2012 guitar (shown in above links) with fixed bridge and since then I have been trying to work out whether or not this is the limited edition PRS offered back then.

The major difference between this guitar and the limited edition is the head stock - mine is in Matt black with gold PRS signature on it rather than matching colour headstock.

Could anyone shed some light on this? Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Kelvin

makena blue. The "MODCAT" under the bridge pickup could tell the rest.

Not sure what the limited edition was, but that looks like one of the earliest ones they did since it has the old school MOP birds. Later in 2012, the infamous "dirt birds" began to appear. LJD has good advice with the modcat code, that will give you the specs on it. Early in new model production, PRS often times does some things a little different than what the actual production model ends up being. Some color choices, birds, etc.

Thanks guys!

This is my first PRS guitar. I remember being blown away after seeing someone playing a p22 back in 2012 - I couldn't believe piezo could sound THAT GOOD and decided one day I'd be a proud PRS guitar owner too.

I wasn't aware of the modcat until you guys mentioned it. Unfortunately the modcat decoder isn't working anymore there's no other way I can decode it now :(

This is the limited edition I was talking about:

The modcat decoder in this thread should work http://prsguitars.com/forum/showthread.php?6650-2013-MODCAT-Decoders

V is probably right. My 2013 Makena Blue Custom 22 is lighter in the center which is more consistent with others I have seen. Sprayers choice? Also, what are "Dirt Birds"?

Yeah that's the decoder I tried. I guess the link is dead now :(

I googled briefly just now - I think the colour is more like blue crab blue burst than makena blue

My modcat is as follows:
P2M4FTHSNBP_CC_HP-PV

It'd be great if anyone can decode it for me :)

Decoder link worked fine for me just now. Maybe you are blocked if you are at work?

My bet is the first two characters are "PZ" not P2. Then the MODCAT comes out just like Jhenri's result with "Model: P22 or P24"

Congrats! And as Pfloyd57 said, welcome to the P24 club! I love my P24 (trem)!

For some reason I can't access the website but thank you jhenri for decoding it for me!

Yeah p24 is incredibly versatile. Personally I think the 53/10 better suits my taste as its warmer than 57/08. Couldn't be happier now!
