Core Starla Pickups

At one point, I owned three core line Starla's. In order to make them a little different, I put a Compton bridge on one and GFS Dream 180 pickups in another. The Dream 180's are like a cross between a P90 and a Filtertron. Not as bright as the Starla pickups. But, neither were my Filtertrons. I used to run my guitar volume around 6, in order to get it to sound like my Gretsch guitars.

When I did some recordings with a PRS SE Soapbar II, I was surprised how good they sounded. I did try the humbucker sized GFS, P90's and I wasn't impressed.

I now have the extra set of Starla pickups in my Zach Myers. I don't know if you can buy the MIK, B&G Starla pickups. But the GFS Dream 180's are a less expensive, yet similar pickup.

I'd love to get my hands on a core starla pickup if you have one laying around.

I had a set a few years back and stupidly sold them. Even reached out to the buyer to buy them back and he said “nah, they aren’t going anywhere”. Can blame him.

I hate to sell the Starla pickups, because of the price to replace them, with a similar TV Jones or Porter, pickups. Plus, my covered PRS pickups look terrible. The combination of nickle and silver of the covers and my sweat, from playing 4 hour shows, out doors in Florida, is like selling my DNA.

I recently picked up a Sinful Cinnamon stoptail core Starla and have a set of OX4 pickups on the way to replace the originals. They're a bit oxidized, but still sound great, just not the sound I'm after in it. If any of you are interested, shoot me a message.

That one is definitely more sparkly than my old Sinful Cinnamon. I actually snagged a set of core Starla pickups last week. I’m not getting rid of them this time.

A stripper, er I mean guitar, I should have brought home..

With a name like Sinful Cinnamon it's an honest mistake.

What part of Florida are you in? I am in the North end of Palm Beach county.
Mine are gonna stay right where they belong:cool:

That is one of the ones that was made at the same time mine was made. Mine is like that but with the birds on it.

I lived in Sebastian, Florida, then moved to Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Part of the reason I asked that question is because there was another one from this run that sold down here to a guy that is about a half hour South of me. I was wondering if you were the same guy.
