Core NF3 vs Fiore

That's the problem. The Silver Sky is the first SSS ever that I've gotten along with all 3 pickups. I always preferred HSS because of that, but the Silver Sky bridge pickup really sounds good. Still, I'd prefer a guitar that plays and feels like a PRS, but sounds like a strat. If it has an humbucker in the bridge, I'm fine with that. What I I'm giving up on for me, is the radius of the Silver Sky. At this point, it's too much of a change from what I'm used to and it affects my playing (bending, which is the whole reason I wanted the SS!) too much. I want something that plays and feels EXACTLY like my NF3, but has true and really good single coil tones. If that's a DC3 with a pickup swap or something like that, then so be it. I was just hoping that "maybe" the Fiore could be that guitar because I love a good HSS.
It would be sacrilegious to most people but if you still own a SS it would be cheaper to just get the neck radiused to how you want. It would be the cost of a refret and radius more than likely but id think thats around $500 or so. A DC3 and pickup swap prob is more like 1500.

when i got my fiore refretted last year i did stainless but also asked for it to compound 10-14". The job wasnt cheap, but I love the guitar and just wanted the neck to tweak to fit my personal taste.

Congrats on the NF3! I am a huge fan of the NF3 and I have also owned a Fiore. I might have kept it but the neck just didn't work for me. I think you'll find that the Fiore and Strat will be the two guitars that overlap the most, whereas the NF3 will be it's own thing. And it will be awesomer than the other two.

Awaiting pics... :)

The Fiore and NF3 feel remarkably similar ,
I was going to ask you about this... how about the necks? I got a chance to pick up a Fiore and hold it for like 5 seconds, but some guy was buying it so I didn't really get to play it. The neck didn't feel the same as my NF3, but again, very briefly held it. I'm sure Mark had the neck made to what he wanted... how different is it?

Fiore is just slightly deeper same nut width , always thought the Fiore felt like the DGT and they measure almost identical at the nut

Core NF3
Nut Width 1.67"
Depth at first fret .848" ( 21.53mm )

Fiore
Nut Width 1.67"
Depth at First Fret .855" ( 21.74mm ) .007" deeper ( about 3 sheets of notebook paper )

Saw the pic of your killer with birds !!!
The Fiore and NF3 feel remarkably similar , I don't notice the slightly different scale.
The NF3s 3 really clear humbuckers are super smooth clean and play great with gain
The Fiore is brighter and snappier but the extra sounds and so fun ( Neck and Bridge together )
They actually play really well together.
Congrats on the new guitar

Thank you!

And, that’s interesting… he handed it to me for a second and my very first thought was that it didn’t feel exactly like my NF3. I pride myself in sensing the feel of the neck, and doubt I could have noticed nothing more than 3 sheets of paper difference in thickness. Something felt different on the sides of the neck… maybe edges rolled differently. ??

They are a bit different but the difference is small possibly the Fiore is a bit more D shaped with the NF3 being more C shaped.
My fav carve is the Pattern ( wide fat ) so they all feel a bit smaller to me and takes me a sec to adjust when playing some chords

This was my exact impression as well regarding the relative shapes of the necks. Wide Fat is a little big for me while Regular is perfect, so that small difference in the shoulders of the Fiore neck was enough to make it uncomfortable for me to play.

Congrats on the new guıtar! 🙂

I have a question about the Fiore: is it possible to lower the middle pickup all the way to the level of the body? Basically like a SS or Strat? Thanks 🙏

It won’t go to the level of the body. They are direct mounted to the body. They can get pretty low though. But I’d ask do you really want a fiore if you want the middle pickup unusable?

Thank you for the answer 🙂🙏

I wanted to Fiore for many reasons like being able to combine the bridge and the neck the PRS build quality….

Since the Brent Mason only has a couple differences from the NF3, you can count me as one taken by their charm.

My only problem with the Fiore ,and Myles Kennedy, is they’re both maple boards only.

I love my Brent Mason!

I don't know if the NF3 reacts like the Studio 22 does since they both have the narrowfield pickups in them but rolling the volume back just a little bit makes the narrowfileds brighten up a bit and gives it more chime. I like the sound of it much better with just a tiny roll off on the volume.
