Anyone know why some of the CU22 or CU24 guitars have this white line where the maple cap meets to body, while others have the back color uniformely up to the maple cap? Does this come on a certain package?

At first I thought the line was absent on 10-tops, but then saw saw some that had the line.

Scraped binding -- as far as I know, it's determined by finish. Take a peek at the standard colors on the 2018 CU product pages and it should help illustrate. Less "photogenic" tops get shot with solid colors and receive a different binding treatment, usually (or none). There must be individual special order options, and while the catalog doesn't explicitly state it, I'm guessing those would open up on Artist Package models and above. (Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken.)

There are frequent exceptions though, you'll notice a lot of variation outside the catalog. One of my favorites in recent memory was at @seattleguitarstore : CU24 BLACK WITH TEAL BINDING

Hotness.

Flux is correct. It's finish specific, to start with. Wood Library runs, Artist Package, and Special Orders can change that. Of course, Private Stock as well. As a broad statement, the burst finishes will wrap into the back color. Not always, but generally speaking.

Yup. Some colors have a wrap finish, some don't. In general artist packs have the same wrap or scraped binding as others with the same finish. My limited run Artist V also had a warp finish.

Dealers have ordered wood library runs with variations, and there are a few at the discretion of the finish person.

I find both equally appealing.

As to bursts, I've had cherry burst, dark cherry burst, charcoal burst, and a few others with a scraped binding.
