Control Pot Advice Needed

Hi peeps,

I have an electrical part question and I figured you guys would be a good bunch to ask. I have an EMG-equipped archtop guitar (ESP Eclipse) and want to switch the electrics to that it no longer sounds like tinny crap (the signature EMG sound). However, with some nice Seymours ready to roll and some CTS pots bought, I removed everything only to find that the damned pots don't fit through the EMG minipot holes in the guitar.

I'm an adventurous guy and willing to have a crack at most things, but taking a Dremel or a file to a lovely £800 guitar is not on that list. Can any of you guys point me in the direction of good quality pots that will fit? Basically skinny threads that are also medium-to-long. So far I've only found lousy generics.

I'm in the UK, BTW.

Christ, I can't believe I didn't even think to go to the ESP forum. I have an account there and everything! Probably because I have barely played my ESPs since getting my PRS.

I understand not playing the other stuff once you get your PRS.

StewMac is pretty good with info about parts and what fits, though.

It's very easy to enlarge the smaller metric holes to accommodate USA spec pots, but if you're truly not comfortable with that, get some metric CTS pots: http://www.philadelphialuthiertools...haft-audio-taper-potentiometer-coarse-spline/

I can vouch for Philadelphia Luthier Tools too, very speedy turnaround and they treat you like a king even on a measly $15 order.

Yes, I've had a good transaction or two with them. They have some hard to find items.
