I like reading posts like this - sorry if you don't enjoy them as much as I do...

I've had a long (for me, not necessarily by forum standards) and - at times - bumpy history with PRS as a brand.
I bought my first PRS (used - a 1996 Custom 24) around the year 2007 after learning on and playing Fender (and Fender-style) guitars. It was love at first gig. To me that guitar was nearly perfect - until I picked up a 2001 Singlecut at my local guitar center. The wide fat neck, the thickness/weight of the body, even the tobacco sunburst finish - all of it made me need to own that guitar. So I sat and played it until the GC staff agreed to trade me straight up, and I walked away a very happy camper.

As I began doing music as a daily part of my job (at a church), I acquired a second (SC245) and third (Singlecut Soapbar Standard) PRS.

When I transitioned to a different career, I sold all but my beloved 2001 singlecut...only to have it stolen.

I was on a budget and found an Ernie Ball Axis Sport for an absolute STEAL ($500) and - for about a decade - used EBMM Axi almost exclusively. Then, on a whim, I bought a used 2004 CE-22...mostly because my fiance thought it was sexy (and a little because I missed PRS). I was surprised at how much I liked the double cutaway (compared to my earlier adventures with the Custom) and picked up a second "core" CE and a Swamp Ash Special. Neither of those connected the same way and did not last long...but I have since had the opportunity to pick up two earlier Standards (a 1995 and a 1998) which I simply LOVE.

I also recently had the opportunity to re-acquire THE same Standard Soapbar Singlecut that I let go many years ago....and JUST pulled the trigger on a 2000 Singlecut very close to that coveted (and sorely missed) 01.

All this long post to say I will be posting a family portrait shortly...and it feels so very right to finally be getting some of the old gals back in the stable.
