- Both had quirks & habits. (chewed up cigars, lollipops)
- Both were 70's TV mainstays.
- Neither looked like they had the ability to take down a felon resisting arrest.

Pretty even matchup IMHO. (Unlike the Beatles/Stones)

Columbo was refreshing because he wasnt a tough guy. He was a slob, seemed a little slow, quite humble and harmless. All the while, his mind was a ticking time bomb...
