Coil tap misfire

I recently purchased an 08 PRS Mira and have been quite pleased with the overall package. Cue the conundrum: everything worked beautifully upon arrival but the bridge humbucker (as of early in the week) will only output in the tapped position and not full range. I took a quick glance under the hood and nothing appears amiss. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot? I'm perfectly comfortable with Fender wiring schemes and a soldering iron. Just cautious in new territory. Thanks in advance.

Probably the ground wire... when you flip it into coil split mode you're completing the circuit but when coil split is disengaged the circuit isn't complete any more. Since you already took off the pickguard and everything looks correct (though I would double check the bridge pickup is grounded correctly) you might pull the pickup out and see if the wire is connected correctly to the pickup. I suppose it could've come apart internally as well but that's somewhat unlikely. The good news is, if the pickup is somehow damaged internally, Mira pickups aren't especially prized and you can probably pick up a used one for less than the cost of a pickup repair.
