Cleaning a PRS Rosewood Neck

First time posting. I have a McCarty with a rosewood neck and it has some white spots on it that may have come from accidentally getting regular guitar polish on it. I have tried a lemon oil fretboard conditioner on it to remove the spots. It makes them disappear for a few hours but once it dries, they are back.

Can anyone provide some suggestions on how to remove them?

A really really really soft toothbrush to clean out the pores with the polish in them would be my course of action.
