Yeah, I'm on the fence about it. Like you, if I do it, I'll do the whole bridge.

SE bridges are used in SE guitars as well as S2 and CE guitars

If I plan on blocking the term with wooden blocks, I wonder if a block upgrade to a MannMade would have a smaller effect in this case?

Adding a brass block will improve mid-range and sustain, regardless if it's blocked or floating. It's a simple fact of physics... all materials have a different ring (or tone).
