I notice that d’Addario have brought out 10.5 string gauge, and I’m tempted to fit these to my 2008 Core Mira which has a non adjustable stoptail bridge. Will the intonation be wrong? Will I need to fit an adjustable stoptail?

Quick answer no, slightly longer answer are you starting with .010’s and going to .010.5 or? You can use any gauge string with that tailpiece but never hurts to check intonation after you string it up. Just loosen the strings slightly if you have to adjust those little recessed Allen screws on the bridge should be fine. You don’t need an adjustable tail as the tailpiece you have can change the intonation as mentioned above. I’ve not replaced any stoptails on the guitars I’ve owned and I’m happy with them. Nothing wrong with an adjustable though players choice.

Really no need to switch to an adjustable bridge until you start getting crazy with wound thirds, bridge cable sized strings, and low tunings. I just put the standard stoptail back on one of my Singlecuts when I went to Drop D after the guitar was set up for B Standard with an adjustable bridge.
I speak from experience on this.:p:D
