I have a CE22 with Dragon II's and wanted to change the bridge PU to something with a bit more body. The guitar has the 5 way rotary switch

Am I right in saying the magnet is flipped in the neck pickup? If that's the case, can I put a conventional 4 wire humbucker in the bridge and leave the neck Dragon II without doing any other mods to the PU's themselves? :iamconfused:

Thanks

answer is no!!! based on my experience with a used CU24. The person who rocked it before me put in SM Duncans and even with the neck pup turned with slugs toward neck it sounded bad in the middle positions. I replaced them with dragon II's and love them in it. The issue is the magnet as you stated. You could try other PRS pickups designed for the 5 way rotary or bare knuckle pickups. My understanding is if you contact them with order and spec it for a PRS with rotary, they will flip magnet for neck pickup.

That's what led me here. If the the neck PU has the flipped magnet, can I assume the bridge one is in it's normal orientation and can be replaced with an off the shelf PU, leaving the flipped neck Dragon II as it is?

now that i read the ask again, i believe so. the neck pup is the tricky one.
