I have a PRS custom 24 vintage from 2003.
Thinking of switching pick-ups so I got a Gibson ES-335 sound.
I know it is not possible as it is not a hollow body, but is it possible to get close by pick-up change?
And if what pick-ups?

Peder

But can not see there is anyone who fits the PRS custom 24?
Is it an American company?
Living in Denmark, will be problems with customs, if it is
I had a set in a 594, so they would fit in a Cu24. Didn’t realize you were in Denmark. That would make them too pricey with import, etc.

Are you happy with 594?
And what is the difference?
What I want is a more clean sound ala Es. 335.
The pick-ups that sit in (original) get too crispy with od / dist I think

I don't associate 335s with a particularly clean sound. Pickups used were similar in output to old Les Pauls'. Any lowish output PAF type pickups will get you as close as you're going to get. From PRS this could be 57/08s, 53/10s or 58/15s (normal or Low Turn versions).

Sound is a bit difficult to explain, but the pickups I have in my prs, I think it is almost impossible to get a clean sound, which I like to have as a starting point, as I for example. have with my Suhr strat.
But it's not strat sound I'm after, playing in a band with 2 guitar, bass, key, drummer, vocals and
choir, and it can be hard to penetrate through the sound image. And I have heard that the Gibson ES 335 should be good for that.
I do not know which pickup I have in my prs, where can I find info about it?

I think I know what you're on about. Certainly a custom 24, from the early 2000s, the era of nu-metal isn't going to be a good starting point for a clean sound.
I have a 40 year old Japanese made 335 copy with highly regarded low output pickups, and a PRS custom 22 based guitar with 53/10 pickups. I'm not sure that I could get both guitars to sound exactly the same due to the semi acoustic nature of the 335, but they both have similar output to the pickups and both do clean well. The 53/10 guitar is particularly good at cleaning up with the volume control, or just playing clean with a low gain setup.

The 594 pickups are lower output, a lot like the PAF style pickups of the 50s through early 70s. Most of the 335s that made the records people refer to as the 335 sound were made during this time frame. Lindy Fralin makes killer sounding PAF style pickups, and they are available through Thomann, as are pickups from other makers like Seymour Duncan, who make the excellent Antiquity series pickups as well.

I put 57/08’s in a 2003 CE 24. They do a lot of good things. When I want a semi hollow sound, I just use the SE Hollowbody piezo. That a much more versatile guitar than I expected.

Okay thanks I want to check out the Lindy Fralin pickups.

Do you have experience with them, something you can recommend?

Not with those specific pickups, but with several the Fralin versions of classic pickups. They've always sounded accurate to the original and, more importantly I suppose, sounded good to my ears. I always look to the Fralins first. Recent great experience with other versions of SD Antiquity pickups also have me looking at all the offerings in that series. And the other pickups I have had from Duncan, including some custom wound Strat pickups Duncan-magician MJ, were all eye-openers.
