Ok, so I'm considering one of the above, and here in the UK it's currently 1500 gbp (approx 2090 usd) for a satin finish CE24, or 1950 (2715 usd) for an S2 McCarty 594, or a little bit less for an S2 CU24.

I guess my question is which would you buy, assuming you like both equally as instruments - it's subjective, I know, but the satin mahogany-only CE24 sends to be a better value at 625 dollars less than an S2 594, would people agree?

I was considering a full fat CE24 but they are now equivalent to nearly 3200 usd over here and I don't want to spend that much.

The satin version certainly seems like a good deal, and there aren't many bargains about on new guitars these days, but how do people feel it compares to an S2? Close enough that even the mahogany only version is the better buy?

Any thoughts or opinions gratefully received.....

(I've only owned an S2 Vela (satin) before now, outside of some SE models.)

Thanks
