CE24 identification

I have a custom built guitar out on sale, a great guitar indeed, but not what I need at the moment. I was approached with a trade, a CE24, which looks promising.
He sent alot of photos, including the serial number. All good so far, but the serial number says 2015 (including on PRS' website) but PRS also says the CE came back in 2016. Is this a fake or did the guitar just get built in '15 to be released in 16'?

Seems legit - looks exactly like mine. I guess they went ahead with production in 2015 to re-introduce them in 2016.

That's my guess as well, and the guy seems legit, not getting a scam-like vibe at all.

It looks good but I thought the SN was on the plate for the CEs...but that def look good...nice axe...

No, they changed the position of the # several times over the years. The one on the headstock for the current production is correct.

I got a great reply from Kylie on the support team. We guessed correctly with it being made at the end of '15 to be released in '16.
So I'm getting that CE for sure.
