I have a ok shape 01 ce22 I like it a lot. My first PRS . I have had it about 4 weeks , in this time I have become consumed with PRS guitars.I could trade it in and give about $200 for a 04 Custom 22 much better shape than my CE and it has all the original paper work , hang tag ect. I have not seen it in person. I did play one and it felt and played about the same as my CE. I did notice the necks fatter, but that's not a issue. Any thoughts.

First post!

I had a CE24 up until today actually (traded it plus cash for a 10 top P22). I thought it was a great guitar! I found the sustain was better on the necks that weren't bolt ons. Me personally, i'd upgrade to the cu22 especially if the CU22 is in better shape.

Congrats on your new axe. I'm done thinking about it. I'm getting a Custom 22. I can alway get another CE and have both. I'll just need to find the same color so the wife don't notice.

I don't see the Custom being an upgrade, but rather a completely different guitar. I wouldn't, but it's not about me, check it out and decide for yourself if you can.

I got my CU today. Mint condition, black cherry, wide fat, dragon 2's ,birds and trem. Much better when playing clean. The crunch is defiantly there. The CE will be missed . i love the wide fat neck on the CU, it's a much more comfortable to play..

I've gotta be honest, I would have made the trade as well, but I also don't like the CE neck as much as the CU neck. And the new fiddle sounds like a looker, def post pics.

Thanks Dog. Any good cleaner recommendations ? Also the guitar and case have a very musty smell. Any trick to freshen it up?

Fabreeze does ok, but I like to leave it out in bright sunshine on a warm windy day. Not going to have one of those for another month or more, so maybe use Fabreeze until spring.

PRS guitar cleaner and PRS fretboard conditioner have worked well for me. I know there is a thread on this subject because I started one a while back

You need to get on a plane and come to Southern Ca. immediately. Sunny with temps in 80's expected at the beach today. Humidity will be very low however, so I will leave my guitars in their cases....
