Curious...
I have an old CE22 that I love. Strongly considering adding a pickup to make it a HSH. Thoughts?
Is "making it the tool I need" worth taking away the ability to make it stock? (I am NOT a collector and NOT looking to sell it)

**Please don't just tell me to go buy a Swamp Ash Special - I have one and love it...looking to accomplish two different things**

I guess I'm a little apprehensive to pull the trigger and came here for encouragement lol.

My Encouragement Is To Not Do Something Stupid And Ruin A Perfectly Good Guitar. ;)

You Could Always Buy An SAS That Is Already Made And Probably Will Be A Far Better Guitar Overall Than What You Are Wanting To Do To your Guitar.

On The Other Hand, It Is Your Guitar So Have At It. Wear Protection And Post Pics And Progress Videos So We Can Be reminded Not To Do Such A Thing. ;)

All Kidding Aside, If You Truly Have The Skills And The Tools, Etc. And Won't Ruin It, Then scratch That Itch. I Genuinely Come From The Place Of Buying What I Want And Need And Not Messing Around Trying To Make something Into Something It Is Not. For Me, It Is Faster, Far More Cost Effective And Far More Fulfilling To Buy Once, Buy Right And Get On To Making Music. YMMV

Do it! It's just a tool and an HSH Ce22 would be killer

I’ll just drop my thread links here:

I'm putting HFS/VB "back" into mine (with the 3-way toggle) as well!! That's definitely happening as my other CE22 has Dragons and the rotary switch.

But, why not trying to find a US build SAS?

For real...!

Edit; dumb sh*t that I am should have learned to read

:p

It horrifies me to think of someone doing something that permanent to a CE-22. There’s not enough of them out there to lose one to an irreversible modification. You may not be planning on selling it, but that guitar will outlive you. Think of the future owners!

I hope this is tongue-in-cheek. PRS issued 33,000ish CE serial numbers for the old CEs. Roughly 25,000 of those were when the CE22 was in production, so figure about 10,000 were produced. They’re plentiful, which is why they still aren’t very expensive.
