Howdy There!!!
I'm Gary from Louisville..
My Son wanted .011''s on his CE-22 so yesterday I put em on for him..
Being I've setup hundreds of guitars really no problem, The nut slots were lose enough & after tightening the claw & getting the tremolo level with 1/16" gap, I had put back cover from a Jackson under the trem while the strings were off. I lemon oiled the fretboard & also tightened each tuner as the nuts had all 6 vibrated lose some, this required that I remove the hold down screw, remove locking tab & then the C clip to access the 10mm nuts.
What's got me puzzled was the action was way high but the relief was great so I slackened the strings & lowered the bridge via the six knife edge screws, which I also lubricated with a micro gun oil pen. Now the action is just a bit higher than before, which I would have thought being heavier strings were being used without buzz..
I guess the last owner had the trem resting on the body so as to Drop D tune?
He jammed on the PRS CE-22 for a few hours now & all is good, I'll check it again later today to see if sitting overnight changed the relief or intonation..
This is my first post BTW..
Here's Angry Larry a 1997 CE-22
