Cause I think Kanami is awesome and it is PRS' 35TH anniversary

Oh man, those closeups of the dragon fretboard are what my dreams are made of.

That video doesn’t really show how well she plays. This live performance will. Maybe those fans are acting excited because they are filming a video, but they seem genuinely thrilled about the show to me.

Yeah that video shows is much better. She really has massive chops. Plus a Custom 24 through a Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifier is just a thing of beauty.

Just thought it was cool to see PRS highlighting a different, and lessor known player, that may appeal to a different demographic.

I had never seen her before. I just found that video while binge watching a bunch of them. Thank you for sharing that with us.

This thread makes me happy. Love this band, they're just so fun to watch. Glad to see someone else here likes them as well.

Yeah a lot of good stuff. Check out the drummer in the middle portion. The bassist is also great. Always fun to make more converts.

Love Kanami, her sound/tone was the final push I needed to get my first PRS. Huge fan.

When it come to music my first love is guitar driven sound, but it can span different genres and many decades. It may make me sound old, but much of the US based pop music coming out today I find painfully dull, boring, and at times lacking true musical talent. Not that it does not have any merit, but it does not speak to me.

Then, I find if I expand my boarders to beyond the US to places like Europe, Japan, and even more underground stuff from the US. I am comforted knowing the stuff I like is still out there.

I was also bored with most new music here in the states and love riff driven high energy rock. When I discovered Band-Maid I could not have been happier, they were exactly what I was looking for. They quickly became one of my favorite bands and introduced me to other Japanese bands.

I also blame them for me discovering BabyMetal which went from something I found kind of odd but entertaining to a band I actually really like with their last album.

Just for sheer exuberance, she reminds me of Stephen Perkins playing with Jane's Addiction -- rock solid playing with hair and limbs flying everywhere.

Love the bass player, I think she makes a Jazz Bass sound so good that she should put that Gibson bass back down.

I notice they're making eye contact with each other and smiling a lot. Almost like they're having fun... Can you do that in a rock band in the 21st century?

Beat me to it. I was planning on starting a Band Maid thread but I'll be happy to join this one.

I've already told my FB friends that I think Kanami is the greatest Heavy Metal guitarist I've ever heard of.

We still live is a weird, wonderful and amazing world, where a woman that comes across as kind, demure, sweet, and even shy like Kanami, wearing a maids costume can go out there and absolutely destroy the vast majority of guitar players.

I would 100% get a kick out of seeing a video where Paul meets Kanami and gives her the Dragon Guitar (it is clear she loved it in the video).

If it weren't for Baby Metal, my mind would have never been int he right place to accept a band like Band Maid. Here's why... Upon discovering Baby Metal, cute little girls dancing to hard core Heavy Metal, I not only hated it but I was actually angry and offended. For me, Heavy Metal was always very sacred to me as a way that I, a historically angry white guy with a Metallica haircut in America could vent my hostilities without hurting anyone or getting arrested. Heavy Metal was always a great mental release for me. Then to see cute little girls in a Heavy Metal act who weren't angry, who weren't broken beat and scared like me, performing in front of huge audiences... it was sacrilege! But then, after an endorsement from a couple of artists that I deeply respect to the core of my being (like Rob Halford), (and also a verbal ass chewing from Rob Zombie) I ceased my mental hostilities toward Baby Metal and that is what allowed me to give Band Maid an honest evaluation.
