Hello, newby on the forum looking for suggestion on a case.
Does anyone have information for a "guitar shaped" case, NOT RECTANGULAR...that will fit the PRS custom 22 guitar properly.
Ive asked PRS people several times roughly a year ago for an option, to the gigantic monolith rectangular heavyweight black cases that weigh a ton.
I see recently they've put on market, a "lighter" rectangular case, most likely due to demand from people...but still, they've missed the mark in my humble opinion, for people desiring a smaller footprint for a case...something that resembles what all Gibson guitars come standard with. A lightweight guitar shaped case easily managed when carrying multiple items in and out of tight areas for a gig or practice...
Suggestions??

People like rectangular cases because they can carry more accessories in them, and they're arguably more protective of the neck due to the extra crush space. But if you're traveling lighter, the old style Gibson cases are sweet, and I still have the original case for my '65 SG Special.

On the other hand, the drawback of the old Gibson case is that if you have a trem arm to store, the accessory pocket is often too small, and you'd have to carry it loose in the case (though I suppose you could put it in a pouch or something).

If you're after a smaller hard case package, as Distort mentions, the Hiscox cases are very highly regarded.

I bought a GigBlade 3 gig bag, and I've happily carried my Private Stocks in it. Best case of any kind I've owned, and easily as protective as a hard case. But there are other great ones out there, by Mono, Reunion Blues, Gator and others.

If you're in the mood to get spendy, the Hoffee (carbon fiber) and Calton (fiberglass) cases are incredibly great,

Thank you I will look into this, I see several you tube videos on that mono bag....Ill be the first to credit PRS for some of the best guitars I have ever owned, as far as the cases, yea its built like a tank, but im not doing rooftop concerts like John paul Ringo and George, my case isn't going to fall off a roof.
Most impractical case i've ever owned, I suppose if I employ a guitar tech, he could carry the thing around and not me.
