Cardboard Strat

Wow, it is always amazing to see how resources can be re-purposed. I truly feel we need to do this all the time. Thanks for sharing, that was very cool

Yep, blew me away, how the hell does it take the string tension?

Damn fine stuff this cardboard!

That's pretty cool...the corrugated construction should be strong enough to hold the tension...I'm wondering if they coated the guitar to keep it from disintegrating from sweat...:iamconfused:

It just goes to show, if you know your materials, really know them and understand fully their strengths and weaknesses, you can build amazing things.

My hat's way off to this packaging company!

"See all this lumber we have sitting around? Let's turn it into paper and make some guitars!"

"Why don't we just make guitars out of the lumber?"

"Man, you have zero imagination! You are so boring!"

"Yeah, I know."

i wonder how humidity changes affect the guitar! Just keeping it dry in a case would not be enough.

I believe they would have had to fill it with clear epoxy to give it the required strength.
I don't think so, they made surf boards with the stuff so it has to be pretty tough on it's own.

Seems cardboard is as strong as Alder

Saw this yesterday and was gonna post it, but my computer is in with Apple for repairs, and it's too much of a pain to post videos with my phone, lol.

It would be neat to see a cardboard PRS, with the carved top and everything!

Last thing he said was forever...
I highly doubt it, but no doubt it is a very cool guitar You'd expect LP guitar player to play a little better. Cool video!

My favorite example of repurposing...
