Can't adjust to Pattern Vintage neck... but only option for 594?

I need a 59 G replacement but can't find a PRS neck in 594 that works for me. I've bought 3 different 594's with Pattern Vintage necks and couldn't get used to any of them, so I moved on each time.

PRS Pattern feels like absolute home for me. It never feels off, the neck just vanishes and I focus on playing.
I love G* '59 necks in the high .8's at 1st fret and up to 1" at 12th. Never uncomfortable, but doesn't vanish like pattern does.
My favorite Fender neck profile is 59 Large C, AKA 59 John English which was based on a '59 G* neck. It's another high .8's at 1st and just below 1" at 12th.
I do not like thin necks, medium to large are my preference.

Has anyone learned to like a PV that didn't at first?
Why doesn't PRS offer a 594 in a Pattern neck?
Maybe I should try a DGT, but I already have 25" PRS's with humbuckers so not sure I will fill the 59 G gap any better with a DGT than my HB II Piezo.

EDIT: After spending more time with a pattern vintage neck on a 594 I decided to keep it and have learned to really like the neck. :). The “Pattern” neck on my HB II Piezo is still home for me but when I need a LP, I will be reaching for the 594. Thanks for all of the input.

Got a 1999mccarty soapy wide neck in immaculate condidition, just put some Wolftones in and it sounds good, the bridge original duncan is 12.9k, neck is 8.3 k. Wolftones are closer to 8.something and 9.something on the bridge.

I came from a pattern thin/schecter/Ibanez background. First time I played a 594 it felt like a baseball bat. I loved the tone but I wasn’t sure I could adapt to the neck. A couple of years later I really wanted a 594 HB and just took the plunge. If I’m going to play any fast leads I’m not stoked about the shorter scale length or the thickness of the neck. But I have found that chords and other types of playing are really comfortable for me. So I did eventually adapt but the 594 is not my main/only guitar. If it was, I would not stick with the pattern vintage but would go with a different neck carve/guitar. I hope that helps your decision!

If you can’t adjust then…You’re not trying hard enough! 🤪
Buying a 594 3 different times is trying pretty hard :)

Did you try the Thinline? It's still a 594, but with Pattern Thin neck instead of Vintage (and also just mahogany body, no maple cap)
I get more hand strain and arthritis symptoms when I play smaller necks and have sold off some great guitars for having necks too thin. But thank you for the info on that, I didn't know they made a thinline.

I will spend some more time with my recent 594 this weekend before sending it back. I just sold my last Gibson, a very nice R9 so I had hoped this 594 could fill that void. Maybe I'll give it another chance before returning it.

I ordered a 594 and loved everything about it but the vintage neck. After playing rthy for a while, the lower muscle in my thumb bothered me. I ended up returning it. Several years later, I ordered another 594. This time I knew ahead of time what to expect. I ended up playing it for 2 weeks straight and did not play any of my other guitars. I got used to the neck pattern and it no longer bothers me anymore. PRS made some updates to the guitar from the old one I tried as it removed locking tuners and adding brass saddles and tuning pegs which increased the sustain. This is my main guitar now as my Silver Sky and 335 are close 2nd and 3rd. My Les Paul Custom comes in after the others.

Great feedback. I've gone back and forth between my 2024 HB II Piezo and a 2018 Private Stock 594 I just bought and the HB is much brighter, more present and alive. I wonder how much of that is the upgrades that PRS has done in recent years vs being hollowbody and slightly longer scale. They have the same 58/15LT pickups, though I'm not sure if the 2018 would have been TCI. I should throw some fresh strings onto the 594 to see if it makes a difference.

SC58 is your answer. Best singlecut PRS has ever made.
I love the SC58, and had a couple of good ones, but the McCarty Singlecut PS run from 2014 is unbelievably great. I played it just today, as it happens, and it's killer. It's also a little different from the SC58. The body is a bit thicker, no belly carve, and there seem to be other differences.

Even played acoustically the thing sounds and feels more lively than any other PRS SC I've played (including the 594 SC). Granted, it might just be that I have an unusually good one, and it's the only one I played from the run. So I can't say whether they're all like this or not.

It has a Pattern neck, Madagascar Rosewood fretboard, and PRS even added some unusual mammoth ivory bird inlays. I'd say if the OP can find one, he'd be in business. Here's a nice demo from 2014. This one sounds very similar to mine. I see a lot of PS 594 Singlecuts, but have yet to see one of these on the used market, though there have to be one or two out there somewhere.

Tim Pierce has used his several times on his YouTube channel as well.

I eyed one of those SCs at a shop for years that was old stock but they wouldn’t budge on what I felt was too high high of a price, I still remember the PS# and wish I would have just bought it.

SC-58's (as well as Stripped 58's and even MC-58's) are incredible. Just incredible. I don't think you could be holding/playing one of those and feel that you're missing out on anything that a 594 might offer.

Just before my dealer received it from PRS, I'd gotten a performance royalty check from SESAC. So the timing was good.

The guitar is aging well, and it's become noticeably more resonant. I've made good use of it.

If I hadn't bought it, I'd just have wasted the money on...I dunno...food...or something equally unnecessary. 🤣
