Can you swap out 58/15LT Bridge Humbucker for a PRS Metal bridge pickup in PRS Studio

Hey guys,

I'm loving my PRS Studio so far ...except for not really using the bridge pickup as I just don't really like the sound of it. I'm mostly just playing the neck pickup, middle pickup or combo of the mid and neck pickups.

I don't even really like the sound of the bridge pickup split either.

So seeing as how I don't use the bridge combo positions would I be able to replace it with the Metal pickup in the bridge?

I'm just wanting something mor aggressive for when I play heavier stuff at higher gain levels?

Looking at the wiring diagrams on PRS support site, looks like it should be pretty simple swap - although they differ for 2022 and current. I think the 2022 diagram refers to orange and green soldered to tone pot casing, if I remember correctly when I swapped mine in there was neither orange nor green the \m/ neck (bass) but there was a green on the bridge (treble) pickup. So if 2022 is followed, you'd just solder the green to tone casing, if current, it has the green going to end of 5 way switch with no mention of orange.

Can't see why not.
Funny the Studio is the first guitar that I like the 58/15LT in , the original Studio had a 57/08 in the bridge and I seem to remember many folks thinking the match with the narrow fields was not great.

I was always under the impression those early studio were 5708 NF like the SAS

Ahh I see. I have a 2024 model.
So I wouldn't need new pots for the swap with the \m/ pickups being higher output?
