Can you help me determine if this PRS is a fake?

I am thinking about buying this PRS, but I am not knowledgeable enough to know if it is a fake. Can you please help keep me safe from the knock-offs that everyone wants to avoid?

Thanks! I am super excited to join the PRS family!! Just want to avoid a fake at all costs.

Cool, thanks a lot you guys. Do you have any regrets about buying a nice used McCarty, vs a new one? Is it all it's cracked up to be? I have always wanted one, and have finally saved enough. I am pretty excited but want to be cautious.

I have bought both new and used PRSi. I've had three McCartys. One like yours, one with soapbars (McSoapie) and one with a rosewood neck (McRosie). All were used and all were terrific. No buyers remorse at all. Get it and have fun making your fingers sore.

The McCarty is one of the most iconic PRS models for a reason. They're great guitars, and instant classics.

Looks legit, and that burst and subtle top is what the McCarty is all about!

Looks like a fine specimen! As long as the price is right and you dig the guitar, go for it.

Looks legit, I used to own one a lot like that. Very cool instruments, my favorite platform from PRS for sure. I've bought maybe 5 of em new and another 20 or so used, they've all been great. The only things I ever had to do to them are either replace volume knobs (I ocassionally wear them out with volume swells), set intonation, or level the frets. That's it. They're generally rock solid tone machines. The original McCartyburst you're looking at is my favorite color for them, too. Good luck and (hopefully) congrats!

Guys, I want to thank you so much for all of your help and insight. I really appreciate it. I picked up the guitar today and I absolutely love it! I am so proud to be part of the PRS family now. You guys are so cool and I hope that I can make other people feel good about being part of the PRS world. I am going to go play my McCarty!

And many happy returns, brother. We have our bumps in the road like everyone else but I think you'll find the ride rewarding.
