I got a PRS C24 Floyd which I am planning to stabilize or possible block for backwards pulls. I'd like to remove the locking nut so I can access alternate turnings more easily. However, as I still want to have the possibility of using the trem, I wonder how good the stock metal nut (unlocked) is for tuning stability. I wonder if the PTC can create a custom nut with the same profile but with their magical material and screw-able as the original Floyd nut? All to make it reversible.
That can be done, also I could make a Graphtech one, they sell the blanks. However, I am looking for a pro-made, pro-looking, pro-PRS option.
There was one now discontinued sold by AllParts. This is the idea I have that I'd like the PTC make for me.
If it's got locking tuners then leave the locking clamps off and see what happens. Probably won't work but it' worth a shot.
