Hi guys, I'm trading my Dean Custom Run Razorback Blacktooth with a PRS guitar.

Guy says that it's PRS SC58 Stripped but I have no idea what this guitar is. I can't find any information about this guitar.

The owner says it's

2012 Stripped SC58
maple top
wide fat carve one piece mahogany neck
Indian rosewood fretboard
bird inlays
solid mahogany body
nickel two piece bridge
57/08 pickups
Charcoal Burst.

But I want to know where this guitar was made and how much it was sold in the first place. I really have no clue about PRS guitar and this could be my first PRS. Please help me guys!!

The specs for the Stripped 58 in 2012 are pretty close to the current SC245 model except that it came with 57/08 pickups instead of the current 58/15 pickups. It's a great guitar.

I would hit some of the prs dealers webpages on the dealer link on prs website. Some my have used and new sc58 which will allow you to compare price, also check eBay. If you get a chance to play it, you should. I do not know much about the guitar you are trading so I can't tell you that deal is good or bad. From what I see in the pics that is one nice guitar.

So I looked up the dean and I say go play the prs first. These are two very differently styled guitars. The dean looks to be a limited run of 100 , correct? You want to make sure you like the prs before letting go a limited run, you may not be able to replace. My 1 cent!!!!!

Yeah it's 200 limited run made in Korea with Floyd rose 1000. It used to be my dream guitar but since I have Jackson Corey Beaulieu Signature, Dean is no match in my opinion. It cost $1100 but I'm not sure the one on Ebay which is $2000 worth just because it's limited run. I'll definitely go for PRS this time.
There's also one PRS SC58 Stripped on Ebay which is $2300, but who knows if the seller is selling it out for more than it actually worths.

that being, said. if you can play I would, if not based on you post, i would do the trade if he is doing a straight up swap. your coming out ahead on value for sure.

Every PRS except the SE are made in Stevensville, MD. I forget what it is about the S2, though.

I don't want to hate on your Dean. I'm sure it's a great guitar, and we all have personal preferences.

With that said, for me, that's trading in a 1 for a 10. I'd do it in a heartbeat and if it is a straight trade than you may want offer some cash just for good karma. Not a ton mind you, but that PRS is worth more for sure.

Yeah I'm trading straight without any extra cash!

The Stripped 58 is a deluxe model, and wasn't "stripped" at all. It just didn't have the fancy binding, inlays and Artist-grade top that the SC58 had at the time. But the SC58 was priced like an Artist model, so it was very expensive.

The idea of the Stripped 58 was to bring the price down to the other Core models. And it was an AWESOME guitar. Mine sounded magnificent, and when I very foolishly sold it, I couldn't find another SC58 or later, SC245, that had the vibe my Stripper had.

Limited run, to me that's kind of a "so what." I've had my share of limited run guitars, and you know, being a limited run didn't make them sound or play any better. I'd take that trade in a heartbeat.

Dean vs PRS? ....hey I know they put out some decent stuff but I have no doubt you will not look at your other guitars the same way after you've been PRS-ized............ PRS-ed...............PRS-sticated...........oh whatever, you'll see what I mean when you make the deal and start playing it.

Dang dude! Dean makes some good guitars, but you're slaughtering the other guy on the trade. Let us know how you like that Stripper!

Have one that looks almost just like that, great guitar! You'll be doing great on that trade.
