Buzzing

I just purchased a Private Stock Modern Eagle V. It buzzes pretty bad, I checked the relief and it was really low so raised to .010. It's now better but i'm it's still buzzing, for example my G string buzzes even when playing it open. My low E doesn't buzz if you hit it open but it does if it's fretted anywhere. Any ideas besides taking it to a tech?

Truss rod? I assume you are referring to open strings buzzing?

Correct, G string is buzzing open. E string doesn't buzz open but does when it's fretted. I tweaked the truss rod slightly to increase the relief which helped but it's those strings are still doing it,

No, just a touch, maybe 1/16th to 1/8th of a turn.

And be sure the strings are fresh! Wouldn't hurt to change and you might get lucky.

Could be low nut slots. It happens sometimes. Did you change the string gauge from the ones it came with?

Nope, everything is stock as it came.

My advice is to get a good tech to install a new nut then.

Do what shimmilou said. If the action is too high, then look into a new nut.

I had the same problem with my CE24. It turned out just to be one of the locking tuners that needed tightning.

I have never had and issues with my PRS new or used that PRS ( PTC ) did not handle 100% for me.

Might just be me, and I could be wrong, but have you checked the intonation? Is it still an E at the 12th and open? If so, then it probably is the truss rod and I agree, slight turn only

I turned it a little more and still get a lot of buzz. The low E buzzes on every fret if fretted.

I've had a couple of strings buzzing on a few frets and it drove me crazy. Played with truss rod to no end. Turned out it was the neck pickup buzzing which could be fixed by little finger pressure. Still feel stupid about myself.
