Buzz when P22 connected to amp and PA

I plug the piezo side into a Bose L1 Model 2 PA, and electric side into an Egnator 65. But I get a horrible buzz/hum. My guess is that the problem is a ground lift somewhere. Any suggestions?

It sounds like a ground loop. A DI box should take care of the problem

Thnx Shawn! Would a Boss AD-3 work? Or specifically a DI box?

I'm not familiar with the Boss AD-3, so I'm not sure if it will work.

does the pa have a ground lift option on it?

You definitely need a direct box - you may or may not then need to engage the ground lift on the direct box.

Actually, you may not need a direct box, you may need a box with a transformer in it, like the Lehle P-Split. Some direct boxes, however, do have a transformer that will enable you to lift the ground.

You have a simple ground loop. It's an easy fix.
