Buying PRS from Japan

Hi all, its been awhile since I bought a PRS from Japan. There are a couple I am interested in. Both do not have rosewood fingerboards, one is ebony and one is maple, so at least that I don't have to worry about. In the past I have been charged taxes sometimes and other times not. Has anyone bought a USA PRS from Japan recently? Did you have to pay duty? any problems with customs? thanks for reading and any responses

It's a reimport of a US manufactured good and should not cost customs duty.
Google it, there are links to the appropriate regulations.

Those of us in the US shouldn't have to pay duty, as long as it's correctly marked, "returning to country of origin". The last one I bought did (SC-J), but admittedly that was a few years ago.

If you're outside the US, I have no helpful information for you. Are you in Brazil? Or are you a fan of Genesis? XD

Or...uh...how shall we say, "haircuts"?
