Burst Question - Options for burst finishes

Regarding burst finishes..... do you guys know if you can specify a rim/edge burst or a teardrop burst? I've seen lots of guitars with both and was curious if that is an option when you order a burst finish. Or does it just vary depending on the model? For example, the Singlecut Hollowbody II seems to have an edge burst while the solid body singlecuts seem to have a teardrop burst. Would the "custom finish" option allow you to specify the shape of the burst?

Yes you can, or have been able to in the past. It's covered under "special order finish" which is listed at the bottom of the specs on some guitars.

I know a guy who got a Tremonti with a charcoal contour burst (like Mark Tremonti's). Not sure with the Artist Package up and running if this is still an option.

Best thing is to talk to your dealer (and let us know how it goes)
