I like maple tops. There's a bit more articulation to the tone, as opposed to the warmer tone of mahogany.Maple can be awfully cute under lights.
Thx. It's impossible guitar to photograph, but the tone, especially post the pickup change, is otherworldly. The way a single chunk of mahagony resonate, is something elseNice!! Wow…
Lets add the Starla to this list! A wonderful all hog axe.Would love to see a return of a Core all mahogany guitar to the PRS line up. Standard 24, Mira, Standard 22 ... these are some of my favorites from the past and there currently is no all Hog guitar in the core lineup (and I'm not a fan of the pick guards on the S2 standards)
What pickups? On my two 80’s rotary 24’s I have OG neck and Duncan Pearly Gates bridges.Thx. It's impossible guitar to photograph, but the tone, especially post the pickup change, is otherworldly. The way a single chunk of mahagony resonate, is something else

I second the S2 McCarty thinline. It's cheaper than core, they now have the core electronics and pickups! I picked up one of the new ones and it's 120% PRS all-hog goodness.
I just noticed that half of my guitars are 50% all hog/korina. With a Starla and a McC korina.I have a set of Starla’s just waiting for me to pull the trigger on a thinline.

Color me a fan
Its light, super fun and comfy to play and makes the 58/15's have that edgier honk. Every time I play this guitar I think "damn that's good"I have a set of Starla’s just waiting for me to pull the trigger on a thinline.
Piggy backing off of Distort and Lazlo…
stop-tail, soap bars and a satin/unfinished neck…they’d get me hook, line and sinker
