The 513 is one of the PRS design high points, in my opinion. Great guitar. I might sell one of mine if I decide to retire from live performance, but for gigging, no one guitar covers ground like the 513 in a variety type band.
I'd grab a new one. I had a Swamp Ash 513, in Powder Blue, that was awesome. Had a maple neck, too. It was a player's guitar, that's for sure. It was a little beat up.

I really liked the idea of the 513. I was pretty much decided on buying one back around 2006. I went to a somewhat local shop that I dealt with a lot. They had one. I liked the finish. I plugged it in and was pretty disappointed with the level of noise that came through the pickups when using single coils. I then started looking at it closer and thought that you could never change the pickups in it if you wanted to try something else. That was the deal breaker for me. I bought something completely different that day. I have stayed away from every model that uses those style of pickups in it. I REALLY wanted the guitar before I got there and was very disappointed with how the experience went.
I love the 513. I just got a 2004 rosewood that I think is for life, but I really like the 2011 core it replaced, and the swamp ash I tried was also pretty sweet.
