I have a new to me Westie and the bridge is slightly tarnished. What brass cleaner should I use to remove this?

Congratulations on your Westin, those are cool guitars! For polishing metal parts, I use something called Blue Magic. Someone here recommended it to me a while back, and it’s worked very well on all the metal surfaces I tried it on.

I've used Blue Magic on a few things, mostly pickup covers & fixed wraparound bridges. Seems to work well--I just use a tiny little bit and go easy, working only as much as seems necessary. So far, great results.

That unplated brass trem is part of the charm. I'd leave it alone. Mine look like this.....

I used Never Dull Magic Wadding Polish, for all my metal polishing needs (Cars and Guitars) it lasts forever, I bought my last can 4 years ago and have bearly pulled 1/4 of the stuff out.

Has anybody ever tried the polishing cloths (Classic Cloth was one that I can't find anymore, Miracle Cloth still around) with the embedded chemicals/agents? I used them on my Harley's for years with great success. I could even clean mild amounts of break dust off the spoked wheels with these things. Got rid of chrome pitting, surface rust, etc. Have not tried on my PRS's or any other guitars, but wondering if anyone else has used them or something similar.

I use http://www.gorgomyte.com/ on my frets, pickup covers, and bridges.
It’s seems to be the same as Miracle Cloth.

Thanks Distort6!! That does look/sound very similar. I have read literally, the entire gorgomyte website (not all that deep and very 1998 level of user interface/design) and it sounds like the same stuff. I am going to try the Miracle Cloth I have on an old 3/4 scale bass and see what it does on those frets and board. This bass does not even play anymore (for several reasons), and has not had electronics in years, but I love the headstock and therefore, can not throw it away ;~)) I will report back. Seems like if it is the same (or at least has same effects), Miracle Cloth is significantly cheaper than gorgomyte based on my initial calculations.

There’s a thread here where we came to the conclusion that they are the same. I hit the frets every other string change with it.

I have some Miracle Cloths--I mostly use it on occasion to polish-up the frets when they appear dingy and/or no longer shiny & smooth-looking. Seems to do a great job (or, as best as can be done quickly & easily aside from an actual "fret job"). I actually open the whole cloth and cut 1/4'ths out of it, and use the smaller pieces--there's no need to use the whole thing just for fretwork on 1 guitar.

I've out the miracle cloth stuff. It works decent enough. It doesn't seem to last as long or work as well as the Cape Cod I use on my watches but it's very similar in smell and texture. I haven't used the cape cod stuff on my guitars yet but I plan too since discovering gorgomyte and miracle cloth. An old tech recommended simichrome to me and all in all I've been happy with it's results too.

Thanks all! I appreciate the feedback (as OP does as well I am sure).

Cheers to shiny smooth frets!

Happy slidin'!
