On my way back to CT from Boston today I stopped into a GC just off the MA Pike to kill a little time. Almost made it out of the store unscathed and was just looking back towards the used wall as I headed for the door when way up top I saw a white PRS. Thinking it was just a Navarro I almost kept walking but noticed moons instead of birds.

Sign on it said vintage PRS so I asked the salesman to please bring it down for a peek. Turns out it is an 1989 Standard 24 in what looks like pearl white, moons, winged tuners, rotary, and a sweet switch. Probably a one piece trem and braz board also given the year. Pups TBD but I will pull them tonight to see what they are.

Looks dam near clean save for a little fret wear, nothing too groovy but a little. When I say clean I mean super clean, no dings or issues I can see. Opened up the electronics cavity and all looks right and original. Even comes with the og case with the metal PRS plaque on it, never saw one in person before. Case doesn’t look like it was used much, the guitar fit into it super snugly, no movement.

Tag says it has been in-store since October, I use this to tweak the price with them a few hundred bucks and when the smoke clears I walk out with it for $2599, not sure if that price is great or even barely just OK, but I am psyched to own a true vintage PRS.

Pics later tonight when I get her home.

You da bomb! That's a sweet score! Looking forward to seeing your pics!

Ok, glamour pics will have to wait for a sunny day but here are some proof pics. Got it restrung and oiled the dry fretboard. Gonna let it acclimate and go over the setup as best I can tomorrow. Not a huge fan of the standard treble and bass pups but it does sound good. I bet a set of 59/09’s would slay in this all hog guitar.

That looks like it is in REALLY good shape for its age. Score.
