Bought a brand new Cu24 WL from an AD. No tags or COA, is it normal?

Hey guys, I recently bought a WL Cu24 from an authorized dealer. I noticed it didnt come with any sort of documentation or tags. Just the tremolo bar, a general PRS pamphlet, keys for the case and the trussrod tool. Is this normal? I would expect atleast some sort of card that outlines the model, specs, etc? Also, I noticed in some Youtube unboxing videos that the hard cases for the WL guitars look way nicer than the one I got. I got a standard black hard case but the ones on Youtube from "Peaches Guitars" look like the cases have gold buckles, brown edges and almost like a patterned suede-y material? It would be nice to get some feedback on if this was all normal.. Thanks

It should've come with a hang tag. It also should've come with the Artist case you've mentioned, though it's possible the dealer didn't include the upgraded case in their specs for the guitar. Possibly they put it in the wrong case, or possibly something else is amiss.

WL and Core guitars don't come with a COA. PS guitars come with a certificate showing the specs.

I'd give the dealer a call.

2 out of 3 of my "new" PRS guitar purchases, all from authorized Dealers, did not come with a hang tag. 1 of them also did not have the MODCAT sticker on the case. Both of the ones missing tags sat in the stores for some time (~9 months and ~4 yrs (NOS Soapbar)). I have to admit I was disappointed with both of the missing hang tags, but I bought the guitars to play and the hang tags do not affect that purpose.

I guess all of that is to say, you are not alone with a missing hang tag and it is a bummer. It looks like a great guitar and I hope you enjoy it!

Thanks man! Yeah, its my first PRS and it would have just been nice to have as something to commemorate decades from now when it moves hands to my children. Like I said, not losing any sleep over it, its not a big deal, the guitar is wonderful now I just have to get the skills to match lol

It’s “normal” if you bought it at Guitar Sent Her.
Ain’t that the truth!

To the O.P. I had a similar experience with MF(rs). I sent mine back mainly because they sold me a floor model but sold it to my wife as new. Anyhoo, I found the right person that apparently had enough horsepower to get me taken care of promptly (full refund). That guitar is stunning so I wouldn’t want to send it back. Apparently, switching cases (paperwork, case candy, etc) is a thing. A non-acceptable thing, but a thing none the less. I would definitely be hitting up the dealer and go from there.

Enjoy your new guitar! Congrats on the score! Hopefully they will get you sorted out sooner rather than later.

Thanks for the input, yeah the shop is 4 hours away from me so, I wont make a big deal of it. I figure this was also a "display" model at the shop but upon close inspection I did not see any signs of playing or even light scratches. Though its a little marked up now that I've been playing in non-stop for a week lol. I got a great deal on it and I absolute love how it looks and plays.
