Jeez, that MonoBloc brings back memories!! Many moons ago, I used one of those with a Mesa Formula Pre-Amp and (if I remember correctly) some sort of Alesis reverb unit in the rack thru a Marshall 4-12. Just looking at that rig made me feel like I could actually play guitar.
Yeah I had memories of back pain from my rugby playing days, the squats are real to pick up this bad boyJeez, that MonoBloc brings back memories!! (Probably also why I have a bad back.)
Good stuff though!!![]()
100% confirm it rocks the foundations of my house. I will be investing in an attenuator to really push the tubes. I may find a 50w rack amp and sell on the 100 at some point, but for now, I have all the power to rock my not so spandex socks off for now.Ooooofff. That is one heavy mother. And a 19" amp rack screams spandex indeed.
But in terms of sound: it will probably rock, although it has way too much headroom for my tastes. I prefer a cooking and borderline clipping powerstage (yes, I like vox style amps)
Love it!
Nicely Done!
Nice rack.
I had a VS100 back in the middle 90s. I seem to remember it fondly. Don’t recall why I got rid of it, or what I replaced it with.I've spent a little time this evening resetting the JMP-1 to it's default, understanding the 25 built in patches, and building a few of my own.
I've built a fairly thick clean patch and a patch based on a JCM900 (shock horror, one of the most hated Marshall's), and loving how flexible the pre-amp is. The 9200 power amp is brutal in terms of power (I'm glad I currently have no neighbours).
Tomorrow I may plug the Valvestate in to see what that's all about. It's an amp series I've never tried, but have read some reasonable things about the 8008, so fingers crossed it's half decent.
Good to know it brings fond memories, I'll be keen to see how this one fares.I had a VS100 back in the middle 90s. I seem to remember it fondly. Don’t recall why I got rid of it, or what I replaced it with.
Nothing but love for the 900’s from me.I've built a fairly thick clean patch and a patch based on a JCM900 (shock horror, one of the most hated Marshall's), and loving how flexible the pre-amp is.
Nice!!! Valvestate is for home practice and the big guy for live playing....I've spent a little time this evening resetting the JMP-1 to it's default, understanding the 25 built in patches, and building a few of my own.

I remember a friend having a 3 space rack unit with a jmp1 on top, the brains of the TC G System in the middle and a 20/20 watt Marshall valve amp on the bottom with el84s. Great rig!!
