Why is there zero info about this? Guy on another forum said he did not like the Tremonti model as it's thinner in the body compared to the 245's and some others.

I'm wondering if I should wait on the Tremonti I'm about to pull the trigger on as I prefer a thicker Les Paul body rather than a thinner body.

What do you think?

Why not simply call your dealer and ask them to send you some measurements? That's what they're there for.

Thicker body = more wood = more mass = more tone and faster pick attack. That said, I recently hooked up with a Holcomb which has a thinner body than my other PRSi (all of McCarty thickness) and I loved how it felt as far as playability goes. You need to pick these guitar up and play them yourself. It's the only way to know.

Would rather hear from real people on here that have experience with the guitars and the differences.

Yeah. Well that's not using your head. People on forums know about as much as you do, and sometimes less. Your dealer can take out a ruler and measure the frigging instruments and give you answers.

Or you could call PRS customer service, and they'll probably be able to provide info.

By the way, I'm not a real person.

I hear you man, but maybe I just did not make the request clear. I would like to perhaps hear from someone that has experience with a 245 and a Tremonti, that can describe the difference in the thickness of the bodies. Yeah, I understand I can call PRS. They are not open :)
I also understand you are a real person, who did nothing to answer my question

Gotcha, but where? There's no music stores left around here. Guitar center doesn't stock anything except Squiers and all the other noob stuff. I'll check one of the other GC tomorrow and see what they have. I do have experience with a SE Soapbar. A friend has one. I liked the feel of the guitar, was nice, just kind of too plain. That's what kind of turned me on to PRS, is remembering how tight that guitar felt. Pretty good weight. My fear is that the Tremonti is going to be like the Ibanez S series, which I do not like.

No ruler used, regular person, owner of both models mentioned. I can't feel much if any difference in body thickness. If it's there is minimal enough to not be a deciding factor in a purchase. Tremonti wide thin neck profile and hotter pups are what I notice. Plus the up routed tremolo on non hardtail models. Both are great choices and will serve you well.

I agree with Raven. I have them both. The Tremonti Custom SE is now my #1 because of the mass and weight. Plus I don`t wet myself if someone bangs it at a gig.

Looked at the chart, doesn't look to be too much different than the other models.

When you say Mass and Weight, do you mean it's heavier than your other models?

If you're getting an SE Tremonti then it will have a thinner body than an SE245. I don't know anything about the Friedman model.

If you're getting the SE Tremonti Custom then the body will have the thickness of an SE 245. And the wide/thin neck. The regular SE Tremonti has a wide fat/ pattern neck.

I've had two SE Tremonti Customs. Sold one and still have the second. Great guitars that have some nice heft to them. Weighed about as much as my LP standard.

The SE Tremonti is thinner than the core Singlecut (which is part of what I like about it), but I haven't held an SE245, so I can't compare. I had the all-mahogany Tremonti and it sounded huge.

Don't worry, there's no mistaking it for an Ibanez S. It is still a substantial feeling guitar, just a little more like a Les Paul Special than a Les Paul Standard.

I also don't have an SE245 but I have a Tremonti SE and a Les Paul standard and I prefer to play the Tremonti every time. It has wicked tone and play-ability and doesn't cripple me. I fitted SD hotrodded pups to it but that was a personal choice.

Guess i shouldn't even bother looking at a 245. My only complaint with my Tremonti Custom SE is that it's a bit on the thick and heavy side. :p
