Am I crazy for attempting this wiring set up?
I actually really enjoy the 245"S" Pickups in the Myers Blue SE but I'd like to add the ability to split the coils like I can on my 35th Anniversary CU24. And If I was going to change 2 pots I might as well do the whole thing, right?
I have ordered

4x Bourns push pull 3/8 short 500k pots (audio taper)
2x .022uf Orange Drop cap
2x 180pf silver mica (treble bleed)
1x Pure Tone jack
6ft Push back wiring
(3 way switch is fine as it is)

Is this all I'll need?
I've seen a bunch of diagrams and videos. None of them mention a treble bleed so I'm not sure if that's needed or not.
I'd like to have the option to switch pickups later without having to re-solder but I can't find a good source for those termination blocks like on the prefab kits.

Any constructive help is appreciated.

Will need some resistors. Looking up a mccarty 594 wiring diagram will work nice. I know it’s on PRS support page

That’s great schematic. Thanks.

I'm looking more for the 4 push/pull version for splitting/phase/series/parallel. I think it’s either 21 or 28 way switching.

Ive seen some schematics for that. Unless someone has a better one and has any tips for wiring it up.
Also if any one knows if a treble bleed circuit will help/harm or is unnecessary?

thanks again in advance.

are you changing pickups or splitting the stock 245s?

I’m changing all the pots to push pull for the jimmy page wiring setup.
It’s like a rotary switch on steroids/crack/acid, pick your poison.
And you can switch back and forth on the fly without having to scroll through everything.
I’m not changing the pickups just yet. I kinda like them. I just wish they were split from the factory.
I’m partial to a single coil sound neck with humbucker bridge. But having all the switching options available would make for an infinitely versatile guitar. Plus it would be completely stock looking.

cool. I never heard the 245s split before. I know they are capable of it. I hope they are good.

Yeah I’m hoping for the best. I had a Tele once that I wired up with a humbucker and a 7 way switch. I’ve always wanted another guitar that had the out-of-phase setting. You can get some pretty interesting sounds with that.
