I have a new SE Custom 24 tobacco sunburst on its way that I got my choice of from a big internet place for less than a Squier Classic Vibe; on a Black Friday sale. Unheard of deal that I was able to get in on. They also had the SE 245 for even less, pick of the litter.

I dig the Custom 24's and I was in the position to not let it pass by. I was lucky to be able to get in on this one this time.

When it comes in I'll take some pictures and start a NGD thread. I'm going to have a serious surgery though in a little over a week and I'll be in the hospital for probably a week after that; so the pictures may have to wait a little while. I have a lot to be concerned with in the immediate future but I'll post the pictures when I'm back home.

Check it out on the SW site.

I got an SC245 on the same deal. Never been interested in the SE guitars at the regular street prices, but this deal makes it a steal. I'm really looking forward to it. I had been looking at S2 Miras, along with some fender blacktop models as I am looking for a double humbucker guitar and have had some bad luck with the epiphones in this price range. Didn't think I was going to be able to find a good guitar in this price range.

I picked up an SE Custom 24 in Sapphire (My first PRS!). I'd been looking at the guitar for about a year and once I saw the price today I couldn't let it slip by. Amazing deal!

I'm glad to see that some other people got in on this great deal on those two SE's.

These are some very nice guitars. I also ignored PRS guitars for a long time, until I picked up a mint used one for the cost of a Squier Affinity about two years ago. It is a Singlecut Tremolo and is a remarkable guitar, really super nice. After that I bought a couple new ones and they were even nicer.

I have a black Blacktop strat that was really nice stock, but I didn't think the pickups sounded remarkable; so I put in a set of Seymour Duncan's, the JB bridge and Jazz neck; both black open coils and they look really nice one the black guitar. It sounds great now and is a stealth guitar, ha ha. I really like the stock pickups on the SE's I have and haven't wanted to change them out. I put some metal covers on two of them and they look super nice. It was a very easy job that took about fifteen minutes per guitar to do. Philadelphia Luthier Tools sells a variety of nickel silver pickup covers in several finishes, including chrome, black chrome, nickel, black nickel, raw nickel, black powder coated, etc., and they are very inexpensive. If you like metal covers better than the zebra's these work and look great. Plus they don't seem to change the sound.

Welcome to the forum here. The people here are more than just helpful and encouraging.

The sales rep told me that they had a big shipment of those guitars for that special and that he expected them to sell out very quickly at those prices. I can believe that.

I think you guys might really dig those guitars.

Hopefully you guys will post a NGD thread with pictures when you get yours. We all like to see them and, hopefully, share in your delight.

Wow. Only the gold 245's are left and only the vintage yellow Custom 24's are left. I guess that was no joke that they were going to disappear fast. I've got to say that the gold and especially the vintage yellow look great to me.

Yeah, I had to call a sales rep because the SE Custom 24 I had in my cart was gone by the time I clicked Checkout and their system wasn't letting me pick a different guitar. He got it sorted out after 20 minutes on the phone. FedEx delivers it to my door this Tuesday! Now the waiting begins....

I'm not surprised. I had to call the rep back a few times to make sure my order was processed because they were selling so fast. I wanted to make sure the guitar I picked out was "locked in". Everything turned out great.

The SE Custom 24's sold out fast and none were left this morning, only the 245's in gold. The gold 245's are still available there for around half of normal internet. I suppose this won't last much longer.

I'm glad we got ours.

I picked up an se 24 Floyd today. I missed my se24 that I traded in for my DGT. Congratulations, you won't be disappointed

I am kind of afraid to get a Floyd. A friend of mine put Planet Waves locking tuners on his and took off the locking nut. He said it made tuning with the Floyd a lot easier. This guy is a very knowledgeable and good player.

Maybe I should consider getting one someday. It would definitely be something new.

Are you digging that Floyd? I imagine it's real nice.

I saw those deals in their brick-n-mortar store yesterday. If I hadn't just done a trade for one with my local dealer, I'd have been all over an SE Cu24 in vintage yellow at those prices.

They are gone.

Less than two days and the dude told me they had a huge shipment of them and that they were selling super fast.

This was one of those times that if you were planning on getting in on one of these that the, "He who hesitates is lost" idea definitely came into play. As soon as I saw that deal going down I knew that I had to make a decision that I didn't anticipate, fast. Luckily it happened.

I wonder how many more people here got in on those?

I'm not usually a big Floyd fan however this fits that void really really well. I really missed my se cu24 and this is just a little extra bling to go with it.

I really don't think you can go wrong with any prs. I've have both se's and core lines and love each a different way. The Floyd really does what it's supposed to do, help dive bombs lol.....the regular prs terms can do it too imo

That is a really nice guitar. I has me thinking. Maybe I'll get one at some point, not having ever had one.

My only concern is what I have read about the nut slots being too narrow for 10s. I am primarily an acoustic player and play 13s on them. I always put 10s on my electrics. Feels right to me. Should get the guitar on Thursday.

That's an easy problem to solve - either open up the nut slots yourself (carefully, if you trust yourself) or just buy a new PRS USA nut - a new nut is way cheaper than paying you local guitar guy to open up the slots (unless he's a nice guy and does it dirt cheap!).

Alos, I put 10s on my ZM SE, and I do not have any binding issues to report. Maybe I got lucky. :dontknow:

Matt, The cheapest easiest tuning fix you can make is a new nut. I have 6 SE's, all with new nuts. Both the PRS USA and the graph Tech Tusq nuts are excellent. I would recommend you get a pro to put it on correctly the first time.

I had to physically stop myself from cashing in on this - it was almost like Edward Norton's solo fight scene towards the end of Fight Club. I don't need another SE. What I need is an S2.

If that has a steel or brass locking nut you would have a hard time resizing the string slots for tens. Some "real" luthiers would probably have the correct diamond files or whatever in order to do that.

Another thing you might be able to do is have the luthier take the metal nut off and put on a non-locking regular Graphtec, etc., type one; and then replace the tuners with something like the "direct drop in" Grover 406C mini locking tuners. A friend of mine did this to his Ibanez Prestige with the Floyd type trem and really digs not having the locking nut. He can tune in the normal way using the locking tuners. It makes a lot of sense to me. Why mess with trying to tune with those Floyds instead of the headstock tuners?

Even though I've never had a Floyd equipped guitar I'm starting to really dig that Custom 24 Floyd type guitar you got.
