Nice gold tone to that beautiful guitar. It looks like a lot of fun waiting to happen.
Check out Philadelphia Luthier Tools online for some nice chome, nickel, or raw nickel/silver pickup covers if you are interested. They go on very easily and I just soldered mine to the baseplate in one place. They fit very snuggly. I didn't even put a bead of GE Silicone II on the polepieces this time, just put the covers over the stock pickups and they work perfectly and look very good; almost like a new set of Seymour Duncan "Antiquities". The sound was not perceptibly affected and the guitar sounds great. I'm playing it now thru my clean Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue. I had it cranked up to about 4.5 a few minutes ago and got that beautiful natural overdrive sound of the Deluxe Reverb at moderate volume; clean and chimey, yet just into the boundary of a beautiful natural overdrive.
Congratulations on the new guitar. There is no substitute for a nice gold guitar.
