Playing guitar badly since the 70's...
After working retail back in college, I've refused for years to go out shopping on Black Friday. The Mrs, kids and Grandma used to make a day of it, but thanks to Rona that's not happening. As for myself, I'm pretty happy where I'm at with my musical toys, although the new Keeley Hydra looks interesting.

Little early for football, though? Understood if the kid is running around in the household; perhaps a supervised weekday/weekend afternoon at the local playscape as an outlet for his energy?

For years, I never went out on Black Friday. The time I finally did was so my daughter didn't have to go out alone on Thanksgiving night. Then Barnes & Noble started offering autographed books and 30% off magazines on Black Friday, so I caved and went there, but we don't go until after dinner. Last year, they did the books early, so I don't remember if we went out on Friday or not. Have not heard if they're doing the books this year, but I'm dependent on my wife to get me there, so we'll see. The desire to go out on Black Friday this year is very weak. Not that it's ever strong.
They've also started a Record Store Day Black Friday, but again, not until after dinner, and I only go to one record store.

To avoid the crowds, family used to visit a restaurant as early birds, about 4 PM, for dinner, at one of our palisade mall areas. After dinner, we'd pop into GC & the Christmas Tree Shops a few minutes away. While non-interested family was at Xmas Tree, musical family was next door checking out what gear was there in GC. Much of it was not advertised on their website, some high-end acoustics in the acoustic room, perhaps some nice gear in their private sound room.
If anything, wishes were stated and we'd likely purchase some strings or other guitar accessory as a thanks to GC for allowing us to check out their gear. Unless there was something that was a ridiculously low price that would hardly be offered at the same price again, we'd save our cash, and head home, thankful for the time together, and memories made.
