Anyone remember Big Wreck? I saw them open for Dream Theater as a wee youth and they were supporting the In Loving Memory Of album and I don't remember them having more than just a scant bit of play on the radio. But holy musicality batman, a few years ago I tracked down their second album, The Pleasure And The Greed, and that album blows my mind every time. It's just phenomenal. After they broke up I guess the lead singer went off on his own, and his album, Thornley, is pretty good too. But that sophomore Big Wreck album is the Les Paul's balls, as far as I'm concerned. It's just plain great. Anyone else dig Big Wreck?

I'm a pretty big fan of anything Thornley driven. Great vocalist, severely overlooked and under the radar. Wish they'd do a US tour, never got a chance to see them.

Ian is excellent. Big Wreck did release another album last year: give a listen to Albatross. His guitar work is very good on this, and his vocals are always excellent.

I just downloaded it but have only listened to it one time through, but so far I'm really digging it! I'm going to have to spend some more time with it; it seems there's always so much good stuff going on in their music, it's a treat for my ears.

Big Wreck's Albatross is awesome. Extremely underrated as was Thornley's first solo album.
