Big decision coming up: P245 Vs 594 sc

Hello folks, I'm facing a big decision: in order to get rid of some mid-life crisis blues I decided to get myself a new guitar. After months of research I am down to these two and can't decide. P245 SH looks to be more versatile, I like the idea of the piezo to mix the tone, the only guitar which I played with these feature was a parker fly back in the day and it gave it an extra dimension. Conversely, the 594sc seems more "pure", more like trying to be the best at what it does, without trying to do too much.
It doesn't help that I haven't yet found a retailer which stocks them both (I live in London UK). Most of the retailers have the P245 SH available on order, but it would be easier to commit if I had the chance to have them both in my lap for half an hour or so.
Any help from any current or previous discerning owner of any of the two is much appreciated :)
Many thanks

I've had many SC's. My favorite so far is my new P245. I went through the same thing. What did it for me was, we play a lot of acoustic songs live. I love the fact that you can get a great acoustic sound without worrying about feedback, and you don't have to switch guitars. I sold my 2015 SC245 to get mine. The P245 is definitely the most versatile SC IMHO. If you play any clean acoustic songs, or you just want versatility, I vote P245. I don't miss that extra tone knob either.

The P245 & P245 SH were discontinued for this model year, are you sure you can still get one?

I don't think you are going to succeed in your quest for a P245, SH or solid, as Whitecat said. They were discontinued last year, and have been petering out in the market ever since. Any dealer with one or more on "pre-order" is fooling themselves. Your only hope is either NOS or Used.

Depends on what you want to do. If you are on stage playing some acoustic tunes Like BC82 and I do, then seriously consider the P245. Not so important if you are recording or playing at home and already have a nice acoustic.
If you just want a kick a$$ SC then a 594 is to die for from what I read here.

You have 3 P245 on Musicstorelive .

I bought them 2 PRS and are very happy with them.

Hope it helps.

Thank you all guys. Just wanted to tell you how it ended. Like many other times in my life I ended up getting neither of the two. I got the 594 dc. Spent a good time playing in the store and tried tonapproach the decision without preconceptions. So I tried a range of McCarthy including a 2014 sc private stock but with 58/08 pickups. Can't really tell you why, but that particular model felt the best in my hands and in my ears. So far I'm happy, I'll tel you more after a couple of months of playing it

Congrats!!

There's one Charcoalburst SH on eBay with '17 serial

SC594 has more vintage sound
P245 - something between vintage and modern
i had and have few including Artist Package P245 and SC594 ... both are great
you must chose what sound and bridge you are looking for!
BTW, there's already no P245 series in production from 2017

dealer made order from factory in 2016 - i did the same - we must wait 4-6 month , so its normal to see 2017 p245...

That makes sense. I thought that it could be a special order or something similar.

PRS has too many orders now... i'm waiting for Tremonti Baritone - more then 6 month already - it was 2016 limited model))

Paul is right, he's a drug dealer and we always want another dose of what he's dealing with.

I have a sc594 on order, and because of this post I bought a P245. You'll be hearing from my wife's attorney soon...

Whew! I'm glad you said P245! I've got a P245 SH. Lucky for me, I'm not on your wife's radar!
