As others have said, I too have had other brand guitars with dead spots or finish issues. Very disappointing, but if a person is that worried about it, they can only buy guitars in person and thoroughly check them before the purchase. I'm a daredevil and still buy gear online. You usually make out ok and occasionally you get bit.

I don't know that I will ever again be able to look at a Yoda statue without vomiting in my mouth a bit based on that incident! It also makes me think the graveyard series guitars are cursed or something if that dude wants one that badly ;~))

I have never had any issues with my PRS McCarty. I love it in every way possible. I am so impressed with this guitar. I will always cherish this hunk of wood.
